Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Party

June 10 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The 2026 Summer Reading Program, “Unearth a Story,” officially begins later in June, but families can start the adventure early with special pre-program activities beginning Friday, June 5. Throughout the summer, the Eastpoint and Carrabelle branches of the Franklin County Public Libraries will offer hands-on programs exploring archaeology, dinosaurs, fossils, ancient civilizations, earth science, and America 250. These free activities are designed to inspire curiosity, literacy, creativity, exploration, and community engagement. All programs are free and open to the public, and no library card is required.
Wednesday, June 10 – Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Party at the Eastpoint Branch from 2-4 PM. Participants will enjoy free snacks, pick up their Summer Reading Challenge Packets, register for programs, and receive free children’s and junior books provided by Bring Me a Book Forgotten Coast.
Summer Reading is an annual program that brings children, teens, and families to local public libraries for reading and activities. The Summer Reading Program encourages lifelong reading, supports reluctant readers, helps children maintain their skills over the summer, promotes use of the library and books, and provides fun opportunities for family time.
