Ilse Newell Fund for the Performing Arts presents A Valentine Special featuring Darryl Tookes, vocalist/pianist/composer on February 11, at 7:30 P.M.at Trinity Episcopal Church in Apalachicola.  Admission is $20 per person.  Covid vaccines assumed. Masks encouraged.

What better way to prepare for Valentine’s Day than listening to the incredible voice of Darryl Tookes as he performs his Romantic Songs program, featuring music of Cole Porter along with favorite songs and ballads from the American Jazz Songbook. Tookes’ career has included performing with Ray Charles, Al Jarreau, Carly Simon, Aretha Franklin, and many others. He’s performed for Presidents Clinton and Obama as well as dignitaries such as Desmond Tutu, Elizabeth Taylor, Muhammad Ali, and Audrey Hepburn. He is considered by the music industry to be a performer of unequaled stature.
