The Tenth Annual St. George Island Tour of Homes will be Saturday, February 12, 2022, and opens six unique island residences to the public, offering visitors a view of island living. Hours of the tour are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are available online or at the Lighthouse Gift Shop at the center of St. George Island. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the tour. The tour homes showcase the distinct architecture, décor, landscape, and vistas on the island, from the gated St. George Plantation on the West to the beautiful gulf views on the East End.

“Grand View” is a newly remodeled beachfront home on the East End with eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms that exemplifies luxury relaxation for a large family. A coastal family retreat with ample gathering spaces inside and out. Highlights include a state-of-the-art open kitchen, poolside cabana, and ground-level mancave.

“The Boardwalk” is an idyllic home to relax, unwind and entertain in stylish comfort with friends and family. This newly built three-bedroom, four-bath luxury property is located in the heart of the Island and offers ocean and bay views from every angle. If you love modern coastal design, this home will leave you dreaming of beach house living.

“Kumquat May” is a new, superbly appointed beachfront home in the St. George Plantation. It boasts a beautiful pool that overlooks the turquoise Gulf of Mexico and a light and airy coastal interior that will soothe your soul. With six bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms and substantial decks overlooking the sand and sea, there is plenty of space for everyone to relax and unwind.

“The Carbo House” is a private family home in the Plantation with seven bedrooms, eight baths, two half baths, and a bunk room with an attached playroom for the little ones. The architect, builder, and designer worked together with the owners to thoughtfully design the home with both secluded spaces for relaxation and gathering spaces to come together and enjoy time with family and friends. The pool area and Louisiana-style summer kitchen are a sight to behold and offer every possible amenity for entertaining.

The third home in the Plantation is “Home at Last” an idyllic example of full-time bayside living. The expansive screened back porches are the perfect place to relax with a good book and enjoy views of the canal, bay, and flower garden. A short stroll out to the end of the dock is rewarded with front row seats to glorious island sunsets. The home is lovingly filled with antiques that each have their own unique backstory.

“Camellia Cottage” is a private family home located on a beautifully wooded lot in the Plantation. Highlights include four bedrooms and four and a half baths, a gas fireplace, screened pool, multiple covered decks, screened porches, and great Gulf views. The privacy created by the palm hammock and exquisite unique trees makes this a secluded island escape.

A few additions/changes will take place on the 2022 Tour. This year the tour will include a stop at the Plantation Resort Village Clubhouse and pool complex in lieu of the Magnolia Clubhouse as has been typical. The art exhibit on display will be from professional artist, Cory Wright, who will not only be exhibiting her work at the Resort Village Clubhouse, she will also be painting en Plein air in Lighthouse Park during the tour. Cory has graciously donated an original painting to be raffled off to benefit the St. George Lighthouse Association. Additionally, there will be some old lighthouse tower windows that have been painted by several local artists that will be raffled off during the tour.

Because of space limitations, the Friday night kickoff event usually held at the island firehouse will be replaced with a “Thank You” reception in Lighthouse Park for tourgoers and volunteers on Saturday at the conclusion of the tour. The reception will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and light refreshments will be served.

The St. George Island Tour of Homes is sponsored by the St. George Lighthouse Association, a non-profit Florida corporation that preserves, maintains, and promotes the lighthouse. The tower was restored in 2008 after collapsing in 2005, and the Keeper’s House Museum was added in 2011. Proceeds from the Tour of Homes support the maintenance of the lighthouse, keeper’s house, and lighthouse park.
