There will be one person per cart and hand sanitizer in each cart. The course would only like to handle 40 players because of the golf cart situation.  SO tell your friends to get registered. After golf there will be lunch at Half Shell Dockside in Apalachicola.  Expansive outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. September 26\, 2020 at Harry A’s on St. George Island.  There will only be 50 passes sold.  The Live Music will be streamed for a fee to be determined. As a measure of public safety\, National Estuaries Day at the Reserve – which usually draws 800 people – has moved online this year. The mission of National Estuaries Day is to connect people with the estuarine community that supports the life of thousands of species\, including us\, the humans that live off the bay. Annually in the past\, that mission was accomplished by inviting students\, families and experts alike to gather in one place for one day to share knowledge about the bay and enthusiasm for its conservation. This year\, we are taking the opportunity to expand the scope from just one day at the Apalachicola NERR Nature Center to a whole week around the entire Apalachicola Bay watershed. \nWhat: Virtual Estuaries Week Online Celebration and Remote BioBlitz\nWhen: Virtual Estuaries Week Activities – Sept. 19-26\, 2020\nLive BioBlitz at St. George Island State Park – Saturday\, Sept. 26\, 2020\, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. \nJoin us virtually for our celebration of the Estuary beginning on Sept. 19 by visiting our website. There will be video tours\, virtual field experiences\, downloadable/printable activity sheets\, and a weeklong digital BioBlitz that you can participate in by downloading the ‘iNaturalist’ app or ‘Seek by iNaturalist’ and uploading any species you find around the whole Reserve! \nFor details about the apps: \n\nSeek by iNaturalist\niNaturalist\n\nClick here to check up on the status of the BioBlitz. \nThere will be one day of in-person activities on Saturday\, Sept. 26. Registration on Eventbrite will be required in advance (Click here to register). The event will take place at St. George Island State Park from 9 a.m to 3 p.m.\, but your group’s participation in all activities will only take about two hours. Groups of no more than 10 people will visit three stations. Proper precautions following CDC guidelines will be in place\, including a hand-washing and hand sanitizer station\, social distancing\, and mask enforcement for staff and participants. There will be 15 minutes between groups to clean and sanitize any equipment as necessary. During visits to each of the stations\, participants will be able to receive coaching in using the Seek app and be provided with opportunities to find and identify species in three distinct habitats on St. George Island. Due to popular demand\, again at this Market will be a fabulous food truck – actually two – Amazing Grubz and Kent’s Smokin’ Sausages! While guests are browsing the vendors\, they can munch on yummy seafood\, wings\, sausage dogs plus cool off with an ice cold shaved ice or a refreshing strawberry lemonade! The Market will also feature local vendors from the community with handmade goods\, fresh roasted coffee\, delicious baked goods\, veggies\, handcrafted soaps\, exotic starter plants\, gorgeous art and photography\, craft items\, plus unique maritime items inside. Guests can browse inside the free Museum and visit the Lighthouse Gift Shop. In addition\, shoppers and visitors have the unique opportunity to climb to the top of the lighthouse for a breathtaking view of the Bay. The Country Farmer’s Market is held every first and third Saturday from 9 am-1 pm at the Crooked River Lighthouse. \nAt 1:00 pm\, join us for a 30 minute plant walk for $5 with Denise Williams local herbalist. Denise will guide guests for this walk around the grounds of lighthouse and point out medicinal plants. Max: 10 people. \nThe Market is open to new and returning vendors. Vendor may sign up at any time. The cost to be a vendor is FREE for members of the Carrabelle Lighthouse Association and $10 per market for non-members. We apologize for any inconvenience.*\n\nThe St. Marks Lighthouse Quarters will be open to the public for tours from 10 am to 4 pm on the first consecutive Friday and Saturday of each month.\n\nPrice:\n$2 per person (age 12 and older)\n$5 refuge entrance fee*\n\nTickets are sold at the lighthouse (cash or check only) on the day of the event for specific time slots. Only 15 tickets available per day. Ticket sales stop at 3:30 pm.\n\n*Federal passes must be shown or displayed in the vehicle for entrance to the refuge.\n\nThe St. Marks Lighthouse Keeper’s Quarters has major historical significance and recently underwent a costly renovation. We ask our visitors to please follow these guidelines while taking the tour:\n– Leave pets outside\n– No food or drink while on the tour\n– No wet shoes\, bare feet\, or wet clothing\n– Refrain from handling or removing any display items\n– Climbing the tower is prohibited\n\n\nThe St. Marks Lighthouse tours are run by trained volunteer interpreters. We are continually looking for new volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer\, please contact Ranger Connie Clineman at constance_clineman@fws.gov.
