The market\, at the foot of the lighthouse\, features vendors from the community with perfect gifts and goodies like freshly roasted coffee\, delicious baked goods\, like cinnamon rolls\, artisan bread\, gorgeous art and photography\, handcrafted balms and soaps\, handmade goods\, and craft items\, herbs\, produce\, and exotic starter plants. Singer/ songwriter Susan David will play and sing to enjoy our shoppers and guests. \nAt 1:00 pm\, local herbalist Denise Williams will take visitors for a guided medicinal plant walk. Denise will lead guests for this 30-minute walk around the lighthouse’s grounds and explore its natural resources. The hike costs $5 and accepts a max of 10 people. \nGuests can also visit the free Museum and browse inside the Lighthouse Gift Shop for unique nautical gifts. Also\, shoppers have the unique opportunity to climb to the lighthouse’s top for a breathtaking view of the Bay. \nThe Market is actively recruiting new and returning vendors. Vendors may sign up at any time. The cost to be a vendor is $10 a market. The Country Market is held every first\, and third Saturday from 9 am-1 pm. DESCRIPTION:*To keep our residents and tourists safe\, we are following guidelines established by the CDC and canceling this event until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience.*\n\nThe St. Marks Lighthouse Quarters will be open to the public for tours from 10 am to 4 pm on the first consecutive Friday and Saturday of each month.\n\nPrice:\n$2 per person (age 12 and older)\n$5 refuge entrance fee*\n\nTickets are sold at the lighthouse (cash or check only) on the day of the event for specific time slots. Only 15 tickets available per day. Ticket sales stop at 3:30 pm.\n\n*Federal passes must be shown or displayed in the vehicle for entrance to the refuge.\n\nThe St. Marks Lighthouse Keeper’s Quarters has major historical significance and recently underwent a costly renovation. We ask our visitors to please follow these guidelines while taking the tour:\n– Leave pets outside\n– No food or drink while on the tour\n– No wet shoes\, bare feet\, or wet clothing\n– Refrain from handling or removing any display items\n– Climbing the tower is prohibited\n\n\nThe St. Marks Lighthouse tours are run by trained volunteer interpreters. We are continually looking for new volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer\, please contact Ranger Connie Clineman at constance_clineman@fws.gov.

DESCRIPTION:The Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting a special Full Moon Lighthouse event on Sunday\, March 28\, 2021 from 7:00-10:00 pm in Carrabelle\, FL. This special outdoor event will feature live music\, a glowing fire pit\, and low country boil. Visitors can enjoy this opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of the St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach under the evening sky. Live music will be provided by the Rio Jazz Trio playing Blues\, Ballads\, Bebop and Bossanova. Bring a chair and enjoy the evening. The museum and gift shop will be open for browsing and shopping. Admission for this special Full Moon event is $10 per person. (Climbs are not included in this price.) \nFor this month’s special event\, admission must be purchased in advance. Admission cost is $10 per person and includes the live music\, fire pit\, low country boil and museum access. Admission can be paid online or at the Crooked River Lighthouse Gift Shop. \n \nIn addition\, some guests may also choose to enjoy evening tower climbs. The climb to the top of the tallest Forgotten Coast lighthouse rewards climbers with breathtaking views of the bay. Climbers must be 44” tall. A climb timeslot reservation is required and can be made by calling 850-697-2732. Climbers will pay the climb fee (adult $5\, child $3) in the gift shop during the event. \nCOVID protocols limit one party at a time to climb the tower\, and each party will exit before the next one climbs. A limited number of climbers are allowed in each party. Due to the popularity of the evening climbs\, there will be a time limit for viewing from the top.  Guests who would like a more leisurely climbing experience are welcome to enjoy one of the daytime climbs available every Wednesday through Sunday. \nCrooked River Lighthouse Park is located in Carrabelle\, just west of the Carrabelle Public Beach Park at 1975 Hwy 98 W\, Carrabelle. MK Ranch comprises approximately 6\,400 acres of historic tidal marsh in the lower Apalachicola River Basin and acts as a filter and storage area for water flowing from upland sites to the tributaries of Lake Wimico and Apalachicola Bay. Previous activity from the 1970s severed the river from its floodplain\, changed water flow patterns restricting freshwater flows into the estuarine system.
