DESCRIPTION:The July Sunset and Full Moon Climb at the Cape St. George Lighthouse is a unique opportunity to enjoy the view of St. George Island\, the Gulf of Mexico\, and the Apalachicola Bay under the evening sky from the top of the lighthouse. \nThe Sunset and Full Moon Climb will begin at 8:30 p.m. and run until 10:00 p.m.  Fifteen-minute time slots will be allotted for each group on a first-come\, first-served basis.  No advanced reservations will be taken. Our COVID-19 protocols require each climber to wear a mask.  One group at a time will climb the tower and will exit the tower before the next group is granted access. \nThe cost is $10.00 per climber for the general public and $7.00 for members of the St. George Lighthouse Association. Cash or credit card payments accepted. DESCRIPTION:The Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting a Full Moon Lighthouse Climb on Friday\, July 23\, from 7:00-10:00 pm in Carrabelle\, FL. July’s Full Moon is called the Buck Moon. Visitors can enjoy this opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of the St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach under the evening sky. Guests can also enjoy the fire pit (weather permitting). Plus for this month’s Full Moon event\, there will be live music provided by Kevin Andrew and the Rockulla Performers\, a variety of young talent. Bring a chair and enjoy the evening. The museum and gift shop will be open for browsing and shopping. \nThe climb to the top of the tallest Forgotten Coast lighthouse rewards bold climbers with breathtaking views of the bay. The cost is $8 for adults and $3 for kids. All climbers must be 44 inches tall. Due to the popularity of the Full Moon Climbs\, advance reservations are required for those who wish to climb the lighthouse tower during this event. Call 850-697-2732. \nA limited number of climbers (max of 7) are allowed at one time. There will be a time limit for viewing from the top. SUMMARY:C-Quarters Youth Fishing Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Open to all kids 16 years and younger! In 2019\, over 200 kids fished the tournament\, with some traveling as far away as Louisiana. Last year’s event was canceled due to COVID-19. This year we expect even more to join the fun and fishing activities. Friday evening\, before Saturday’s fishing day\, all entries in the tournament must attend a Fishing Clinic taught by the Dock Master of C-Quarters Marina\, Millard Collins. They are instructed how to tie knots\, tie on hooks\, and overall safety while fishing. After the clinic\, each receives a rod and reel\, a tee-shirt\, hat\, and bait. FishFloridatag.org furnishes rod and reels. \nThere are nine categories of fish with three places in each category. There will be trophies awarded for each category. On Saturday morning\, the kids can fish from docks or\, if they can go out on a boat\, they are allowed to fish the Carrabelle River up to Dog Island. There will be a weighmaster available all day. \nLunch will be provided to the kids (Hot dogs\, baked beans\, chips\, and cokes) while the officials determine the tournament winners. \nAll participants must be registered before the tournament. \nView more events at FloridasForgottenCoast.com
