SUMMARY:18th Annual Kingfish Shootout
DESCRIPTION:The 18th Annual Kingfish Shootout will be held on August 7th & 8th\, 2021\, with the Captain’s Meeting at C-Quarters Marina the night of August 6th. The Shootout will be for kingfish and spanish mackerel. \nThe guaranteed payout will be $16\,500 with 10 places. You can win $5\,000 for the biggest kingfish. Prizes will be given for Youth Angler (16 years or younger) and Lady Angler for the biggest fish in addition to prize money\, if qualified. Youth and Lady Angler must catch their fish unassisted. The guaranteed payout for Spanish Mackerel will be $3\,500. 1st place is $2\,000\, 2nd place is $1\,000\, 3rd place is $500. Teams can enter both categories but only win in one category. The highest place wins. Make sure to weigh in your biggest fish. The boat Registration Fee is $350 per boat. DESCRIPTION:*To keep our residents and tourists safe\, we are following guidelines established by the CDC and canceling this event until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience.*\n\nThe St. Marks Lighthouse Quarters will be open to the public for tours from 10 am to 4 pm on the first consecutive Friday and Saturday of each month.\n\nPrice:\n$2 per person (age 12 and older)\n$5 refuge entrance fee*\n\nTickets are sold at the lighthouse (cash or check only) on the day of the event for specific time slots. Only 15 tickets available per day. Ticket sales stop at 3:30 pm.\n\n*Federal passes must be shown or displayed in the vehicle for entrance to the refuge.\n\nThe St. Marks Lighthouse Keeper’s Quarters has major historical significance and recently underwent a costly renovation. We ask our visitors to please follow these guidelines while taking the tour:\n– Leave pets outside\n– No food or drink while on the tour\n– No wet shoes\, bare feet\, or wet clothing\n– Refrain from handling or removing any display items\n– Climbing the tower is prohibited\n\n\nThe St. Marks Lighthouse tours are run by trained volunteer interpreters. We are continually looking for new volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer\, please contact Ranger Connie Clineman at constance_clineman@fws.gov.

DESCRIPTION:The Carrabelle History Museum will present “Remembering Carrabelle High School”. The month-long exhibit will culminate with a special Carrabelle High School Reunion Reception at the Carrabelle History Museum on Saturday\, July 31 from 2:00-4:00 pm. Guests will have a chance to share nostalgic stories of historic CHS. Alumni can video their favorite legends\, tales\, and yarns. The original\, old Carrabelle school bell\, which has been beautifully restored\, will be installed by volunteers of the Carrabelle History Museum. Light refreshments will be served. \nThe Carrabelle High School exhibit highlights high school sports trophies across the decades\, starting from the 1930s\, including football and girls’ basketball. Vintage cheerleader outfits\, letter sweaters\, stadium cushions\, band jackets\, and cafeteria trays show the transition from Carrabelle Mullets to Green Devils and finally the Panthers. High school yearbooks\, school team\, and activity photos\, and school portraits are featured as well. \nCarrabelle History Museum is located at 106 SE Avenue B\, in historic downtown Carrabelle\, FL. The museum and the exhibit are open Wednesday from 12-5 pm\, Thursday\, Friday\, and Saturday from 10 am-5 pm and Sunday from 12-5 pm.
